Too bad older XD9 mags are not compatible since I've got a few Freedom week MAGAzines. I dig my old XD-m 45 4.5", but had to part with it since the shape of the backstrap cut into my thumb bone. Weird I know. Doesn't happen on my XD45 though.Les Baer 1911: Premier II w/1.5" Guarantee, Blued, No FCS, Combat Rear, F/O Front, Checkered MSH & SA Professional Double Diamond Grips

So...whats wrong with you? Infatuated with Lizzo?
Seriously? A Glock? I mean, a Hi-Point is worse than a Glock, but not many others are. The XD-m pistols are the Slovenian super models of the pistol world. Ok, maybe not that gorgeous, but...since we're dealing with obvious hyperbole.

I think the XDm looks great tbh. I have the XD 40 service model and it looks an upgraded version of the XD.Comment

Reeds has always had a great selection of choice firearms. They even had a Les Baer 1911 as a rental! This was about 10 years ago, so I don't know what their rentals look like anymore. It was one of the few shops that had a decent selection of rentals and a nice policy of getting free range time and $25 off the price of a gun. NICE!Les Baer 1911: Premier II w/1.5" Guarantee, Blued, No FCS, Combat Rear, F/O Front, Checkered MSH & SA Professional Double Diamond Grips

I have the XDm.45 4.5" and it's a great pistol. I'm very much considering the 9mm version. M&P 2.0 4.25" 9mm is also available so I'm a bit on the fence which way to go. I know the standard Calguns answer is to get them both but budget says otherwise. Plus money already budgeted for other stuff I need/want.Comment

They has:
- 9mm in 3.8", 4.5", 5.25" barrel.
- .45 ACP in 3.8" 4.5" barrel.
- 10mm in 3.8" 4.5" barrel.
- None of 40WS offer in Elite series.
- The Tactical 5" barrel model is not offer in Elite series
- Only one 9mm 4.5" barrel is on the CA Roster.Comment

I agree with you. I'm not crazy about the looks of any XD series gun. They are very "busy" looking.
Sure, the Glock isn't a beauty, but it is an iconic design, the same as the 1911 and BHP. Its utilitarian looks reflect what it is, a rugged and reliable duty pistol. Which is attractive looking to me.
Other ugly guns like the APX, XD and Hi-Point are just ugly, they are not iconic in any way.
And people need to be honest, given how much people complain about the grip and trigger on the Glock, it's impossible not to admire anyone that shoots a Glock really well. A lot of people simply can't shoot them well.Last edited by Tere_Hanges; 01-05-2024, 6:49 PM.CRPA and NRA member.

Yes, I am one of them, I have no problem with the Glock grips but I cannot shoot Glock well.
After shoot couple hundred rounds side by side XD Tactical 45ACP and Glock 35, 40SW, I coated my Glock 35 with long time storage solvent and put it in the safe in the shelf that I rarely access, it will never see the sun light for a long time. (Note that, my G-35 had "modified disconnector" to reduce trigger pull, my XD Tac 45ACP also had PRP spring kit to reduce trigger pull.)
I will shoot side by side XDM Elite 9mm with Glock 34, if the XDM Elite out shoot G-34 then G-34 will join his neighbor G-35 in the safe for a long time.
BTW, at the LGS I dried fire the OEM trigger pull of the XDM Elite, it feel better than the OEM XD Tac. After 10 days wait... hmm let see, I have couple K 9mm ammo for those two
May be my problem is my finger get use with 1911 and CZ for too long.

Hey, if the XD works for you, then take advantage. I don't have anything against XDs, I had two of them. They are solid reliable guns. I just didn't want them because I like my Glocks and I don't need other guns that I won't ever shoot. I mean I do have other guns that I don't shoot much but those are more collectable guns. Well, at least they are collectable to me.Yes, I am one of them, I have no problem with the Glock grips but I cannot shoot Glock well.
