The best wheelgun trigger I've ever run across is on my Smith 1917, made in 1918, rebuilt by Smith in 1969. Smoothest double action, lighest single action.

On a pistol, My Swenson built 1911A1. Better trigger than my Baer TRS.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

Nothing like a good 1911 trigger.

I've got a Vanek trigger on my 21 that's lighter than that, but it's still a Glock.

I trust it for serious work, but you can't compare it to a tuned 1911 trigger.

True but it's pretty hard to call them target thingys guns.

I love the trigger on my SIG 1911 TTT but my S&W 36-1 in single action is pretty damn crisp.

Best handgun trigger I've ever felt was on a Pardini. 2 oz or so, just like a BR rifle trigger.

Best trigger on a slightly more "normal" pistol would definitely be a tuned SA trigger on a Smith.

                        The best trigger I have tried besides a 1911 is a Sig 226 X-Five in .40

                          Best handgun triggers?

In my experience(stock, off the shelf handguns):

Single action semi-auto: 1911's and SIG
                          Striker fired semi-auto: Springfield XD
DAO semi-auto: none can be considered good
Double action revolver in single action mode: S&W

For striker fired, I would consider Steyr MA1 superior to XD.

I've never fired the Steyr or the FNP's, but I'm interested in trying out both (is the MA1 on the roster?). The XD has the best striker fired trigger I have shot so far. Hoping they don't cancel the Shooting Sports Fair next year again.

Best centerfire auto pistol, S&W 52. I've shot a lot of custom 45s including Chow's, a few Wilson's including one I own, Gold Cups, and a lot of different match 1911s. The trigger on the 52 smokes them all.

Best revolver, N-frame S&W. I like the ergos of the K-frame, but I can get a better trigger pull that still reliably sets off primers out of the N-frame.

Best 22 pistol that's not an Olympic match pistol, either an original High Standard or a S&W 41. Too many crazy good 22s to include them. Lots of great aftermarket triggers are around now as well.

Best trigger of any pistol I've ever shot was an Olympic recoil-less Diana match air pistol that belongs to my Dad. The trigger was ~2oz and only moved about .005" after the take up.
