G26 first range trip

My 19 has a light. It's on my permit. But I rarely carry it. My 26 and shield are also on my permit. I carry those waaaay more often.
If im pulling my pistol in a defensive situation it's because I've already positively ID'd the threat. I'm not out looking for someone or shining a light at a target 20 yards away. I'm not looking for a fight. My carry pistols are for defense and to get me out of a bad situation. Once that has been accomplished I can retreat to safety.
That's why I personally don't have a light on the subcompact pistols that I carry daily. But we're all different and do what makes us happy. To each his own.
As an anecdote, my CCW instructor was asked if he suggests a light on a carry pistol. He said no and that by the time you draw in a life/death situation you're not activating any lights or lasers. Your just getting that front sight on target and pulling the trigger...LAPD CCW Timeline:

Always have redundant systems on any SD/HD weapon. That means weapon lights and night sights. You never know what situation you might be in and what the lighting conditions are. Better to have and not need, than need and not have. I've been in situations and trained in just about every condition, and I recognize the usefulness and need for those devices."Show me a young conservative and I'll show you a man without a heart. Show me an old liberal and I'll show you a man without a brain." - Sir Winston Churchill

I don't know. I pretty much always know what scenarios im going to be in. I don't often end up in a darkened alley with danger afoot. When I was going to my storage unit at night often, I had a light on a gun.
Everyone I know with a wml is walking around all *day* with that thing taking up space. I think if most people evaluate their activities honestly, they can ditch the wmls.Comment

Is a WML really taking space? Or is it the grip/handle does actually prints?
