    G26 first range trip

Tried out my new G26. Decided to try some new ammo, it is "New Republic" 9mm. Cheap ammo from TargetsportsUSA

Unfortunately, out of 50 rounds fired, I had 2 failure to feeds with this ammo. Cheap tula ammo I bought back in 2015 had zero issues. Luckily, I only bought 300 rounds of it. I want to finish it all, hopefully it was just that bad 50 round box.

Also, Streamlight TLR 6 is garbage. Less than 10 rounds and the battery gate opened and batteries fell out. Put batteries back, closed it, another 10 rounds or so and it does the same thing again. Pretty pissed about that. The battery gate is not secured at all. There should be a screw or something holding it in place.

Overall, loved the gun, I was shooting much better than with my G19 lol.

Anyways, need to replace the light. Any recommendations?

Not much options due to lack of rail.

G26 is a great shooter, up there with a G19.

Looks like the same setup I have....

Good shooter and never a single problem
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

I ditched the wml on my G26 and just put on some trijicon night sights. I run the Glock 12rd mags for the extra pinky extension.

No light on my g26, but do have ameriglo spartan. If I had to do the sights again I'd get a bright front dot and blacked out rear. Hackathon I think. Otherwise a great shooter.

Thanks for the info on that light. I didn't know there was a battery-door issue with that design.
I'll only suggest taping the door closed as I don't have one of these lights and carry my G26 guns without an attached wml.

The other suggestion is to merely carry a good handheld light; yes, I know, more stuff to carry.

New republic ammo for me was 1-2 failure to fire per 100 rounds, .380 out of multiple guns. No feed issues though.

I have the same setup and have had no problems with the TLR-6. I would suggest bending the spring clip to be tighter. That might fix the problem. Also make sure it's actually clipping over the plastic retention nub. Sometimes it takes a little effort to clip properly.

Ok I think it may have been an error on my part when I installed it. I think I tightened the screws a little too tight therefore it was sort of caving. I loosened them and now the battery gate sound when it is closed sounds so much more reinforced and I cannot open it with a mere flick.

Will have to try at the range to see if it actually made an impact.

That sounds like a reasonable explanation. I have had the TLR6 on my G26 for years and roughly 2k rounds without issues.

Same as others. No light for a G26. While weapons mounted lights are nice and beneficial for certain tasks, on the G26 (or G43 and G42 for that matter), a light defeats the purpose of keeping a sub-compact, ?sub-compact.? It adds bulk and unnecessary in my opinion, weight.

a small piece of duct tape should keep your batteries from falling out
