I was talking about the Kimber DS9c, I assume you mean the SA. Ouch didn?t realize they were that much.
Kimber KDS9C 9mm Luger 4in Stainless Pistol - 15+1 Rounds - The NEW KDS9c from Kimber is a testament to over 4 decades of the highest level of firearms manufacturing. The KDS9c was built from the ground up as a personal protection masterpiece. The barrel is fully fluted, crowned, and ramped. The proprietary bore sizing process delivers match grade accuracy with every shot. The engineers chose 7075 aluminum and sculpted a frame that delivers superior ergonomics with etching that wraps around the front strap and grips. The magazine release is reversible for left and right-handed shooters. A crisp 3.5-4.5lb trigger pull comes standard as well as two 15-round magazines which anchor the KDS9c as the premier personal protection platform that enhances your ability to defend yourself no matter the situation.
Just check and they have the SA with a cheapy RD for $1620.00. Even the reviews at SW are not good, only 3 stars.
Springfield Armory Prodigy 9mm Luger 5in Black Cerakote Pistol - 20+1 Rounds - The Prodigy from Springfield Armory takes the proven 1911 platform and enhances it with double-stack capacity and a performance-driven feature set. Reconfigured around a double-stack magazine, the Prodigys polymer grip module mounts to its forged steel frame offering capacities of 17+1 and 20+1. Optics ready with an ambidextrous safety and picatinny rail the Prodigy combines the most beloved characteristics of the 1911 with modern capacity for unrivaled performance. Includes Hex Dragonfly Red Dot.Last edited by stormvet; 08-24-2023, 6:47 PM.Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.Comment

Never seen a 1911 that can?t be fixed with a file. I only have one SA 1911 and it?s the EMP4 also got mixed reviews, but shoot it flawlessly hundreds of rounds from mixed brands. My others are Colt from the 90s, one of them is my daily CCW. They do need some love when new, but never need to worry later. Otherwise I would just get something premium at $3k and above.

I completed my first match with a bone stock 5” Prodigy, it ran perfectly fine. No FTE, FTF or feeding problems. To me, it feels like it cycles a little slower than my hopped up p226RX I used for CO. I have only shot about 500rds through it in the 2 weeks I have had it so, I don’t have enough experience with it to say whether it has any problems or not.Comment

My $0.02 I would rather get a gun that’s using the “standard” 2011 mags like sti gen 2 / atlas / mbx
Para mags hard to find these days and para pattern mags from mbx may or may not fit the gun.. or gun needs to have grip machined. Either way not a plug and play
For the OP? if you?re roster exempt, buy it and try it? if you sell at msrp + tax and dros you will easily find people who will buy it off you in caComment

I have a 4.25" and love it, zero issues from round 1 through round 2,000.
For the money I can't complain one bit, it's smooth, accurate, and fun to shoot.Originally posted by ACfixerthere's plenty of sissies and snitches roaming the hallways here.Comment

If you can snag one around the $1300 price point, it might be worth a try. Closer to $1900, I'd rather go with the Stealth Platypus. I looked at both the Platypus and Prodigy and SHOT. I was not impressed with the fit and finish of the Springfield. The Platypus on the other hand was very nicely done. I'd say it was an excellent value. Clean trigger. Very good quality machining and the grip just felt very good in the hand. Everything felt right.NRA Benefactor Life Member
