In fairness to KSD, I did get a set of Hogue hardwood grips that showed up blotchy, dry, and not well sealed and at 2-3 times the cost. They say they are finished with a natural carnuba, but mine were not hydrophobic at all. I also needed to trim them to fit.

Here they are after trimming and another layer of carnuba. They came out much more even overall than the KSD's, but tge KSD's fit better.

      Beautiful Hi-Power. Factory finish?
Dr. Goldstein showed us the way. We dropped the ball. Pick up the ball.

KSD Grips = Poor man's Karl Nill Grips?

Not really. They are quality grips at a reasonable price!

Grips held up by customs. UPS says the seller didn't fill out the Toxic Substance Control Act form? for a piece of wood.

I advise of progress one way or another.

Ughhh... sorry. Mine smelled strongly of the stain they used when they showed up, i'll have to go back and look for any prop 65 warnings.

              Hope they get through soon.

You put cheap Turkish grips on your python Palmaris?
Buy made in USA whenever possible.

It's my understanding that "toxic substance" is vague enough to authorize authorities to inspect ANY box they want, because I asked UPS about why CBP cared about a piece of wood. Walnut, if it matters.

I'm just relaying my experience so other calgunners can choose where to spend there money.

Grips received today, and I ordered a week ago. No fitting had to be done, they basically jumped onto the pistol once I took that Hogue grip off. Really pleased with the result.

Due to popular demand (of 1 person!), a sample pic

I feel like I should be able to embed a pic... Probably need to reread that how to.

Grips extend down past the metal grip to meet the contours of the mag floorplate. Looks odd when mag is not inserted, but it's supposed to be like that.

Looks like I'm supposed to upload to photobucket or similar to embed. Not sure that's gonna happen. If there is a better (easier) way to do it, please let me know.

FYI: The reason the grips are like that on Sig classic pistols like the P239 is to act as a quasi mag well funnel. It's a functional feature, not aesthetic.
