Glock 45 is a G17 frame with Glock 19 slide and barrel. If one already has Gen5 Glock 17 and Gen5 Glock 19, what would be the reason to get Glock 45 ?

Thoughts on Glock 45.

I have two, I absolutely love them. I haven’t shot my G19 since, not that my 19 is a slouch. It feels better in my hand, that little bit of extra grip length. Both have been customized milled by Floyd’s and cerakoted by Unknown Munitions and Alta arms in Idaho.
It could also be the lack of finger groves on the 45’s and compared to the Gen 3 19.Comment

If it wasn’t for off roster prices I’d pick one up. But I’m tired of dropping 3x msrp on a Glock.Comment

If you have a Glock 47 and a Gen 5 19, you also have a 45. I much prefer the full size Glock frame over the compact.
It’s just more options, my next Glock will be a 47. Already have the G5 19, so it’s a no brainer.Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.Comment

Good question. Glock 19x and Glock 45 get compared a lot.
Glock 19x comes only in Coyote tan. It’s also a gen 4.5, not quite a gen 4, or 5. Like magazines-it uses gen 4 mags. 45 has a flared magwell and front slide serrations. 19x has lanyard loop on the bottom of the grip.
So there’s some differences between the two. Unless you like Coyote tan, I’d say the 45 is a newer gen gun and preferred.NRA Pistol/Rifle Instructor

19x came first from the Army trials, 45 came later with improvements. The 19x has a wired little nub on the bottom front of the frame, not all Glock 17 mags are compatible with it. The 45 dose not have it, all 17 mags work with it, it also has a flared mag well and front slide serration. If you want FDE 19x, Black or OD frame 45.Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.Comment

I'd like to get a G45 if the price was right...
Was a Beretta guy for years, but did not like the standard 92FS, so I had a couple of the full size frame/compact slide: Centurion, Elite, etc.
Just like the shorter slide on a full size frame configuration.
To me, the G45 is a great mix - but I only want to pay the standard retail price (or less) and not the 'CA Premium' price...Updated UserID - formerly TheFlashComment

To replace both, got one and sold my Glock 19 and haven?t shot my 17 in two years so should probably sell it too. It?s the perfect all around gun for me, I carried it for about a year straight until I got my staccato c2. But great for carry and still fun to shoot.Comment

Agree . I been carrying a G17 on duty and G19 off duty for almost 30 years now. I guess G45 is like a bit of both.Comment

Very good choice in my opinion. I love my G45. Had it for 3 years now with no plans to ever get rid of it.
The full size grip is a joy to shoot and very comfortable in the hand and the shorter slide make it’s easier to carry and in my opinion a very good gun to carry while camping or hunting. 19 + 1 rounds of 9mm is an awesome package.GET YOUR FFL03 and COE!

I am disappointed in him, he should have stopped innovating after the 3rd Gen. Glocks. After the 3rd Gen. its nothing but money making for him.....so he can divorce his first wife and move on to a younger one.
