    Bren Ten

Does anybody out there own a Bren Ten? What are your thoughts on it? It?s a pretty iconic firearm and was the firearm of choice for sonny Crockett in Miami Vice.

I know they are very collectible now

Yes, collectible and lots of people lost money waiting for new production. I understand the issue was magazines.

      Edit:
Has been gone for quite a while.
IIRC, there was some sort of shenanigans with purchases.
Others with better memory or google-fu will chime in.

      Edit 2:
      Looks like DrewN had one.

I know someone that has one. He won it in a compitition years ago. They promised him a magazine, but never got one.

I offered to buy it. He won't sell it.

Not a great gun, but just about the most gorgeous paperweight ever made.

Yeah, I had one back when 10MM was the hot new kid on the block. There were a few issues (with all of them really), mostly revolving around poor factory ammo, limited bullet selection, unsorted magazines, overall lack of development at that point. Early adopters were basically beta testers like always and I never loved it enough to do the work myself. I'm not sure what the magazine situation is now, they can't be that different from any of the newer CZ clones. If you're looking to collect, I'd buy one. If you're looking to shoot I'd get a Witness or more likely convert a CZ97.

It's amazing how many handguns "failed" due simply to bad magazines.
Event 1911's with bad "shipped with" magazines get a bad rep.

Yeah, I was sticking to CZ clones. But certainly there are other choices. 3rd gen Smith another good all metal choice.

Only 1500 of the full size made.

Boutique collector gun. Nothing wrong with a boutique collector if that's your thing. For a shooter, much better choices out there.

The recent Sig P320 X-Ten seems to be reliving the same problems the Bren Ten was dealing with in regards to bad mags.

I seriously considered ordering one at the time, but waited a few
Years and got a Colt Delta Elite instead.. no regrets.
