    Girsan Regard

Any experience with the Girsan Regard MC? I have an option on a lightly used FDE finish with 9 magazines for $450 and money burning a hole in my pocket.

They are a neat take on the M9A1, and at that price in CA, I would buy it if I already had a nice Beretta. Otherwise I would save up for a M9A1.

I don't think they are as nice as the Berettas when it comes to fit and finish, but the grip is certainly interesting and something that Beretta does not have. But they do seem to shoot well and be reliable.

If I can work out a meet up I'm going to try it. The seller is 2 hrs away and I'm negotiating for a half way meeting.

Turkey has a good small arms industry, I've had only good luck with their firearms.

Here's a good review by a regular person.

The reviews of the budget clones continues. Today we are talking about the EAA imported Girsan Regard. This clone is a mashup of the 92FS and the Beretta M9A3 I believe. There are so many Beretta 92's these days it is hard to tell. This Turkish 92 clone is quite impressive. The pistol comes in...
        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

The OP isn't in CA, that's why it's only $450.

Got it, I couldn't see that.

In that case, I would pass, outside CA, they sell for around $400 new and I'd rather have tge warranty and do my own break in. The extra mags are nice though and might make it worth it depending on brand.

Got it, nice condition, Mec-Gar magazines and several surplus M9 magazines came with it.

A bit heavier than an M9/M92FS and the double action feels pretty heavy but the single action is crisp and not heavy. Can't wait to try it at the range. This will be my 4th Beretta 92 type pistol (two 92FS and one 92). Maybe this one will stick around.

Nice. Be sure to post up a review once you get it to the range.

The target is the first 15 rounds out of the piece.

I took the used Regard MC to the range this morning to try it out before the rain came so I only had short period to time to shoot. I put about 60 rounds through it, 25 rounds of Serbian made ball and the rest my handloaded ball rounds.

Functioned fine with the OEM 18 round magazine and several surplus magazines. The 17 round magazines made by Act-Mag functioned fine but won't hold open the slide.

Single action is nicer than my Beretta 92FS (no longer around) but the double action is extremely heavy. It took concentration on my part to not pull the muzzle down as I pulled the trigger.

Accuracy is excellent, it shoots better than I am capable of given my eyes and arthritis.

The grip feels comfortable to my medium-size mitts.

It is only going to be a range piece and for that it is more than capable. I imagine as a service weapon it would also be a capable piece but something would need to be done about the DA pull.

I have a semi auto shotgun manufactured by them. It?s pretty much flawless.
