I see that there are now 2 choices if we want to get into the 320 platform without going the PPT route; the Franklin ca320 and the 2A 320. So I'm wondering, what's the difference between these two? I thought Franklin used a custom works FCU as well but it appears it doesn't? But it does have the flat trigger, so I'm not sure. Has anyone had the chance to compare the Franklin ca320 trigger to a standard and to a custom works FCU and see the difference? Also, someone mentioned that you needed to swap the feed ramp on the Franklin, but it was my understanding that the only thing you need to swap was the grip module? I also see that both the Franklin and the 2A 320s have optic ready slides. However, I'm told there is a difference in terms of mount types?

Didn't know 2A had a 320 platform. Need to check this out."A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

Manual safety is removable. But you can’t add one without voiding your warranty on the 2A. It’s a grip change on either gun. Franklin model is better executed. Franklin slide will accept the R1P/DPP or RMR footprint optics.
Custom works vs non-custom works FCU matters in no way. Only difference is the color and the Franklin comes with the flat trigger and the 2A comes with a skeleton flat trigger.Last edited by Scope2x; 04-07-2023, 11:51 AM.Comment

Just got my CA320 this week. The FCU is a standard OEM Sig 320 FCU with flat trigger. It's stamped with the Franklin Armory logo but it has a Sig serial number. This is how it came, the grip mod is butt-ugly but I don't anticipate ever using it anyway.

You don't need to swap the feedramp, it's fixed in the grip module. All you need to do is pull the FCU out and put it in a new grip module. Done. Also, the manual safety is easily removed if you don't want it or you have a gripmod that doesn't have a cutout for the safety.

The slide that comes on the CA320 is a standard Sig XCarry slide. The optic cutout has a Deltapoint Pro/Romeo1 Pro mounting footprint.

So the only difference between the Franklin ca320 FCU and a standard Sig P320 FCU is the flat vs arched trigger shoe? Because I won a couple P320s and had the opportunity to test fire the Franklin ca320 last week and the trigger definitely feels different on the Franklin ca320 than on a standard 320 FCU. The standard trigger has almost no take-up but a longish creep. The Franklin seemed to have some take-up but the creep is notably lower and so is the pull weight; or could it just be these firearms in particular, and not really the entire line of P320s?Just got my CA320 this week. As far as I can tell, yes. The CA320 FCU is 100% manufactured by Sig, all FA does is stamp their name on it but they do not modify it in any other way. The FA website says the trigger is a "Sig X series straight trigger" and the FCU is a "P320 FCU".So the only difference between the Franklin ca320 FCU and a standard Sig P320 FCU is the flat vs arched trigger shoe? about the triggers.
When I bought my 320 it was a pre-upgrade gun. Many People told me not to do the upgrade as they preferred the OG trigger. I decided to get the upgrade done. Part of it was to be able to get different triggers if I wanted to.
So after the upgrade I had that skinny curved trigger and to be honest with you I couldn't tell the difference. I was over on Sig Talk talking with some people who had installed different trigger when a nice guy offered to GIVE me his old factory flat trigger. Well of course I jumped on the offer. The only thing I needed to do was send him like $6 for the postage. And he shipped the trigger before he got the check. Really cool guy.
The new flat trigger is so much better than that skinny thing they put in it. Well worth the $6 upgrade. I like it so much that I have no plans on changing it.
OG trigger

Upgrade to the Sig factory flat trigger

There?s a cut for the manual safety that doesn?t interfere with anything. The trigger bar is different for the manual safety. Some people prefer it, as it?s what comes in the X5 Legion.Comment

2A Zone's 320 has the Sig Custom Works FCU. The FA CA320 has a standard FCU. There is no functional difference except "go fast" /sarc skeleton cuts in the trigger.I see that there are now 2 choices if we want to get into the 320 platform without going the PPT route; the Franklin ca320 and the 2A 320. As Brett (way geekier than u; owner of 2A Zone) explains in the above thread, that was the only one Sig offered. Scroll through the thread for updates he provides along with more photos.
The 2A Zone 320 has a non-oem custom slide; the FA CA320 uses an oem compact/carry slide.
Both have compact 3.9" barrels.
If you are on the fence, order both through 2A Zone and sell the one you don't want here. 2A Zone has a demo model available for you to handle if you drive out to their locations.
We all know people are buying this for the FCU. The main difference is if you want a factory slide cut for a Romeo1PRO/DPP (and if you don't have front optic lugs, a Romeo 2), go for the FA CA 320. If you want to run an RMR out of the box, go with the 2A Zone.
Regarding triggers. Both the post-upgrade curved (thinner) and X-series (non skeletonized) triggers are fine out of the box. I've put a ton of trigger time behind both and they are predictable for me now. I had a person unfamiliar with the firearm shoot it recently and he commented how long the trigger press was. I agree, but it's gotten to the point where I know where the take-up is, how much I can press down on the mushy wall, and can predict the break consistently. For whatever the reason, the X-series trigger reset is a lot more positive (more forceful, louder click) for me than the upgraded curved trigger.Comment

As I was doing research, I found that their P365xl has passed drop-testing. It's available for pre-order and should be added to the Roster soon.Comment

I don't think SIG sells a complete X pistol with a manual safety, so that's cool.Comment
