Glock troubles

Just wondering why folks have problems with the 10-rounder Glock OEM magazines. I have been using mine (5 mags) in competition for years now, in particular divisions that have 10-round constraints - and has been pretty much reliable.

My only guess, lots of trinkets added to one's Glock??

I don't own a Glock - been wanting to get a G19. I thought Glocks are invincible, undestructable, works no matter what...

I have a bunch of the 10rd OEM G17 mags for gen3/4 & some gen5. Been running flawlessly for comp & practice in my G17 and other G17/34 hybrid.
Only had an issue with 1 gen5 mag when it was brand new due to a small tab on the follower that I removed manually- been fine since.
I believe some of the earlier neutered 10rd mags from Glock had issues, apparently that was addressed in the later ones.

They are...when stupid governments don't make them modify a well proven design. 10 rounders have always been an after the fact work around. Forced modifications and work arounds are never as good a a clean sheet design. You rarely hear of these issues with proper Glock 15/17 round mags.

I have a Glock 17 series 2 from about 1989. These days I use 3 OEM 10 round mags. The only problem I have is hand loading those mags. My original 17 round mags were fine but now I have to use one of those crazy speed loader thingies. In order to get the last 2-3 rounds loaded. Sucks. No misfire problems though

A double is when the extractor jumps the fired brass and the slide continues moving back without extraction. I don't see how a magazine could do that under any circumstances.

It can't be anything but a worn/dirty extractor/spring, or your brass is out of spec. Out of spec brass would be a real weird anomaly.

You probably just have a big carbon booger jamming up the extractor hook. If you clean the slide youll find the cause.

I flipped my lucky coin and it landed tails. Fee-choke-ee.

Probably a bad batch of ammo. Grab the lot number off the box and call Fee-choke-ee for refund or swallow hard and let it pass off as an anomaly. It happens.

It was COVID or the Russians that did it!

take a good look at your extractor if ther bottom of the hook broke off as the barrel drops it lets go of the rim

Already posted, but adding to those that have had issues with the factory 10 round magazines.
No experience with Magpul, but worth a try.

Checked out the extractor today and it looks good, springs in and out with little pressure. Will try different mags when I get some. Thanks again guys.
