No experience with that specific model, but I've had good success with their suppressor height sights, tritium filled."An unarmed man can only flee from evil. And evil is not overcome by fleeing from it" - Col. Jeff Cooper

Trijicon owns Ameriglo and they are very “good” night sights. No complaints. That being said however, their “Trijicon” labeled sights are the very best. They can take much more abuse and punishment under harsh conditions and they keep working. Also, the tritium used by both “brands” is the same, however the Trijicon labeled sights last longer. I’m not a chemist but Trijicon does something to them to make the Tritium Last longer than their Ameriglo line.
I think Ameriglo is geared more for the civilian market and not for really going into war, hence why they’re less expensive.

As near as I can tell the Ameriglo are about $120.00 and the Trijicon are about $160.00. If I'm going into war I'll use one of the CZs or a carbine, or rifle. Just looking for some good night sites for the nightstand pistol. Any idea about how much longer the Trijicon lasts? Are they both metal? Since buying the pistols I want to add is a pain till the courts get the roster fixed I thought I would update a few things. Thanks for the info.Comment

The Troopers look like renamed Spartans. They are good. I like the Ameriglo Agents better. FBI/US Marshal Contract sights, $100
Explore handgun parts (1,590) at Brownells, including slides, barrels, and triggers to repair, upgrade, or customize your handgun for improved performance.
The Agent rear is a tad longer and comes back almost to the rear of the slide. The sight face surface is also very slightly tapered back. The front is the same (big dot)

I'm not a fan of tritium night sights, since by the time they start to glow you can no longer PID your target and if you deploy white light your tritium will be washed out. IMHO you'd be better off with durable fiber optic sights and a SureFire hand held utilizing a modified high "Harries Technique" where you illuminate your front sight as well as your target. This system works with standard iron sights as well, but a fiber optic will glow brightly in a low/no light environment.Last edited by Munny$hot; 10-16-2022, 8:54 PM.Can DI AR's run dirty?

I like Truglo TFX Pros. They have both tritium and fiber optics. But for bumps in the night a handheld light is very importantComment

I have Ameriglo Hackathorn sights on all but one pistol. Just haven't gotten around to spending the money to change the sights on it. VP9. Eventually I will but my funds are budgeted elsewhere for now.
The Hackathorns are metal. Blacked out rear. Bright orange front sight picks up fast during the day. The tritium picks up quick in the dark. They aren't very expensive. I'm happy with them.
While I agree a handheld light is important..I have TLR-1HLs mounted to HD pistols. I can stay in a high-ready position and still spill enough light into the hallway to illuminate it or a room if I need to. My .02Comment

I believe that ameriglo uses older tritium. Same with meprolight. They get trijicons old tritium tooComment

I use Truglos, they are extremely bright high quality and impact resistant. And usually half the price of the overrated Trijicons.Comment

Nice post and exactly my opinion on this topicComment

Night sights are another tool in the bag, no one can predict when where or how they will need their gun and their are transitional times of the day when ID can be made but illuminated sights would also be beneficial.
In addition there are possible scenarios when giving away your location by using a flashlight would be unwise.
Yes everyone should also have a flashlight, but there is no downside to having nightsights and doing so is probably wise.
If you are a fan of fiber then check out Trijicon DI sights which also have tritium and you can choose an outline for the front dot
