I bought mine years ago and never had a problem with it. It sits in the gun safe now as I've standardized on Glock 9mm which I'm more accurate with, is lighter and easier to conceal.

I had a lightweight Kimber Combat Commander size in 2008 and it had failure to feed issues. I sold that one and bought the TLE RL II.

Glad to hear your TLE was good to go. Did you ever have to deal with Kimber Customer Service for the Commander you sold? Curious if they took care of it or gave you a hard time

I've owned the Pro Carry 2, Stainless 9mm and still own the Tactical Custom 2. Never a single issue with any of them, and all as accurate as I'll ever be. I shoot my Tactical Custom 2 every bit as accurate as my Les Baer. Great guns IMO, good luck!

I got my TLE RL II since it came out without a single problem. IMHO a lot the Kimber hate comes from an add they posted about how you didn't have to spend 2.5K a custom .45 The 1911 purist crowd are a tough bunch and unless it was as J.M. Browning designed it, then it's just a cheap copy. Of course the MIM parts (which Colt, Springfield, etc are all using) are going to self destruct at any moment and only machined parts will do. While machined part do have their bennifits over MIM, you're not paying for a 3K plus gun with all the hand fitting that goes along with a custom pistola. For a 1,200 gun it's ready to run out of the box with good magazines. While it compare to Staccato's, Les Bears, WC, etc it does give you a lot of bang for the buck 1,200 price bracket.

I have the non railed tle II I think I bought it around 2001 ish. Its a great gun I know there has been some hate towards Kimber for MIM parts and rusty barrels But lets be honest a lot of 1911 makers are using MIM stuff. As for the rusty barrels A friends barrel did have some surface rust on the barrel atone point but so did a couple other guns in his safe. If I am not mistaken once he put a lightning rod in he had no more issues. So If it were me id have no problem buying another one.

the Kimber TLE/RL II is good gun and has good features. I seen a few in the used market for a good price. can't go wrong with it. But if u wanted something a little better IMO would be the TRP bull barrel with half rail. I shot a full rail one, it feels like a glove in your hand, and it shoots super smooth.

With that said, kimber does have quality issue sometimes.

But go check the one out at your LGS, and hold it in your hand, and check the fit and finish. If you like it... start the paper work, if not keep looking there are a few other railed 1911 on the market. But the ones we like always cost more too.

Currently have a TLE/RL as my workhorse 1911, bought used of a fellow calgunner and had no issues so far (except for the jenky case lol). Watched a lot of the reviews on YouTube before buying and a lot of them need to go through the break-in period (500 rds or so) and many people didn’t give it that before reviewing. Didn’t see much difference between the TLE and the Springfield TRP so I sold the TRP and went with this, I am not a pro though, lol, so take that with a grain of salt
