A few of the gun stores I visited last weekend had literally boxes filled with stripped AR 15 lowers. Pretty much no 22 lr ammo around from what I could see.

That sounds like a natural progression.

Uppers/lowers/LPKs/Mags lead to guns to shoot with
Guns to shoot with leads to needing ammo to shoot
Once ammo runs out, people start reloading

        Next? Targets?

Maybe the gun mfr's are just catching up. I still see LOTS of guns being sold at my local store, but they seem to able to get more guns to stock the shelves than they could 6 months ago.

Not much change in the ammo situation.

The price on guns are definitely coming down, and ammo price seems to be coming down here and there, but still somewhat spotty.

I'd just like to find some .45ACP so I could shoot my .45s again.

By October, at latest, ammo will be back in stock; that's my prediction.

I called July for the end of the gun buying bubble; we'll see how my ammo prediction comes in.

I've been seeing signs already that ammo is going to catch up.

I'm ashamed to admit I'm lucky to have a supplier who's never out of anything.

I have been personally monitoring the shelfs of a few local shops as well as the stocks of online retailers and yes. It's pretty much dying down. Hell, I'm even noticing that the "I've never shot a gun, but i've bought 10 rifles in 2 months" crowd is starting to actually sell their stuff and go back to pre-obama reality.

Ammo in popular calibers are very readily available online. Look around guys.

                          i sure hope so...

i think things are gettin a little better... shops that had no ammo at all are starting to carry some regularly its just usally pricey... its cheap ammo thats scarce, but even the local wally seems to stock up more often although it still goes in a day....

I dont see the price of ammo coming down anytime soon. Especially when/if that handgun ammo limit is put in effect. Now I just pray that my backorder at BPS ships sooner rather than later.

as usual, the TV news is about 8 months late to the party.
