RIA .38 Super

My youngest son recently bought a Rock Island full size 1911 in .38 Super. We took it out this last weekend and it shot well, without any hiccups.

I have one too. Had my gunsmith fit a RIA slide w/ adjustable sights I got off eBay + extended safety + Commander hammer. He said he did nothing to the trigger but somehow it breaks at a glass-smooth 3 lbs. Such a sweet shooter that even a couple of lady noobies from Taiwan were nailing the bullseye.

My son is an inveterate tinkerer and during the 10 day "cooling off" period he bought a .22 TCM upper and a 9mm barrel from Armscor. Both need a bit of fitting.

Who did you use to fit your new slide?

You have to love the 1911 platform. I have 5 total in 45 cal, I'm selling 3 all are Springfields.

I just picked up a 22 TCM kit too.

I'm planning to reload and just found out Armscor stopped producing projectiles, but at least is still producing factory ammo.

I ended up ordering a custom mold from arsenal molds which will take 6-8 weeks, but I'll just this time to convert some brass.
