I'd be lying if the new SCOUTS decision doesn't have me all giddy and rearing to go and get a new gun, but I'd also be lying if I said I "need" a CCW category to fill.
What I realistically could consider.
1) 4 inch Springfield XDs in 45ACP. Got this years ago new when not a CA resident. Turns out it's really not an "in demand" CCW anymore, but it's among my inventory, thin, and a solid 45ACP striker platform. Trigger sucks balls.
2) Roster Glock 26. Probably going to become a very popular pistol in the near term once CCW processes open up. Was a Glock match competition gun, decent OEM trigger.
3) G43, again it's really a Glock Match gun, but fits the CCW need. Probably the least capable of my choices in terms of power and capacity.
4) Les Baer Stinger, got this because I'm a LB fanboy and the PPT was feasible and the price within MSRP. More or less a night out on the town kind of carry
5) Colt 380 Government (not the Mustang). It's a 3/4 1911 little thing. Really cute and good looking gun. I've never actually shot it yet (even though having had it several years now). There's probably a reason why they didn't make them for long, and shooting it will probably show me why. OK, maybe less capable than the G43.
6) Oh, then there's a MOS G19 I have (Gen4) that's my bed side gun. Would rather not double up CCW and Bedside, but it is my only MOS carry size ready platform.
************
Realistically I suppose it will be the Glocks and Springer.
More realistically I'd like to have an MOS carry platform. I'm 50, and use prescription classes for irons. But am more than capable with Open Guns as my primary competition fun gun.
So now I'm on the look out for MOS slides for the 43 and 26.
