If you're a CA resident you can do a PPT with another CA resident.

If you're not a CA resident you can only sell it to an exempt person in CA.

If you are not a CA resident and have a grandparent/parent/child you can gift it to one of them. It will need to go through a dealer for transfer.

Thanks I guess I didn’t make it clear. As of February I am no longer a CA resident. I just thought the 365 was ca legal until I saw people selling them for 2-3 times what I paid for it which is why I started questioning it.

The SIG P365 is a CA legal off-Roster handgun.

Because it is an off-Roster handgun, a CA FFL dealer can only legally transfer it via exemption.

If you were a CA resident, then you can legally transfer that CA legal off-Roster handgun via the PPT exemption.

However, since you are no longer a CA resident, any CA legal handgun you want to transfer to a CA resident, must be listed on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale or be exempt from it (LEO, C&R, OTP, SAE, SSE2).
This is because as a non-resident of CA, any transfer from you no longer meets the requirements for a PPT.

For CA, PPT equates to a face to face transfer between CA residents facilitated by a CA FFL dealer.
If the firearm is shipped, then it is not a PPT and considered a type of dealer transfer.
If one of the parties involved is a non-resident of CA, then it is not a PPT and considered a type of dealer transfer.

Thanks, not a big deal on selling the xl I just bought the spectra comp so no need for this one. I still work out of CA and maybe will also check on a shop in FL that I stop into once and a while.
