Shooting 22LR out of Ruger LC380/LC9

I rarely see mention of the Ruger LC380 on here, even though it is the only Ruger pistol to remain on the CA roster. It is an old gun, but I rather like the aesthetics of it. This isn't meant as a formal review, but I will say I am a happy owner. Right away, I bought the Ruger LC9 Conversion Kit, which turns it into an LC9 equivalent. I was also aware on purchase, that Twisted Industries made a 22LR conversion kit only for the LC380/LC9 (not for the newer striker fired LC9s).

So in a single pistol, I could have the option of firing .380 ACP, 9x19, or 22LR. The only problem was that Twisted Industries hasn't had the conversion kit in stock for YEARS.

Well, I was just informed that they are building a bunch in black and OD green that are available for pre-order. I got one just for the fun of it. I have tons of 22LR and I think it would be fun to have the option.

      * This model does not fit the Ruger LC9s (striker fired version of LC9) or Ruger LCP.*

The trigger on the LC9 is horrific.

      The false reset is crazy
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
      (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

Is that a thread protector I see at the muzzle? If that's how it comes from Twisted Industries, and if you are in CA, be careful you don't accidentally make an assault weapon by putting a threaded barrel on your pistol.

If you are to carry one, isn't practicing a lot cheaply with a 22 barrel a good deal, especially with the trigger and false reset? Plus, no FFL and DOJ fees

I thought the same thing. Took a look at their website and they offer both models.

            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
