OP, I like your detailed report. And if I will buy a revolver again, I'll go for the Smith. Congratulations on being able to get those 3 revolvers!

I would not have expected such huge drops in trigger pull weights without additional gunsmithing being performed.

I've always wanted a 686, and this thread isn't helping me resist the urge.

I didn't either. And I did zero work on any internals - merely the springs. When I get some time, I'll work on the Ruger's trigger to see if I can get it as smooth as the Smith and Colt. Will report back when I do this.

Out of the box, the pull is definitely heavy. But put those springs in and I'm sure you will be very happy with the results.

How easy are these to work on yourself? I've installed several OEM decocker kits and an LTT Trigger Job in a Bag into several Beretta M9's without any problem. You basically have to take the firearm completely apart to install the TJIAB. Have also installed a Powder River trigger kit in my XD9.

Enjoyed the review, I had to imagine and wonder how my GP100 would fair in your eval since its a 4 inch, blue and finished up nice by Turnbull - and its still $400 less then the Python - how it would fair.

They do a nice job with the coloring. But do they also work the internals?

Has anyone installed the hammer or trigger shims to their Ruger?
I see there are various kits out there, here's an example.

Nice work. Thanks for doing that.

Have you looked at the Kimber K6S? Curious what you think of it.

I did and read quite a few very positive reviews. But at the end of the day, I wanted to purchase revolvers I would enjoy shooting and owning. And the design of the Kimber is just a little funky for me and I find it a bit ugly. But that's just me. YMMV
