    Looks like a new caliber...

And handguns will be chambered in the new caliber:

    From:

Today we learned of a new, unannounced, handgun caliber, the 30 Super Carry. Check out the details in our preview!

    100gr @ 1250 fps.

Looks like the point is to add an extra round or two over existing subcompact 9mms.

According to Federal Cartridge Co. The new 30 Super Carry is just a rebranding of a cartridge that's been around since John Browning introduced it 114 years ago. The venerable 380 ACP.

              Splash page over at Federal.

Introducing the all-new 30 Super Carry from Federal - the most revolutionary Personal Defense advancement in nearly 100-years.

The .312-inch-diameter projectile used in 30 Super Carry delivers the same muzzle energy as 9mm Luger, with ballistic performance and penetration that far exceeds that of 380 Auto. The dimensions allow chambering in handguns with reduced grip circumference and smaller overall size, yet still offer more magazine capacity than 9mm Luger.

Did the just standardize .32 NAA?
edit: No, they make it sound like it’s a different parent case - not that they just necked down a lengthened 9x17 or something. What rimless cartridge has a smaller base diameter than 9mm/.223? Any wildcats come to mind? Wait, did they shorten a .30 carbine and give it a shoulder?

Wonder there will be a conversion barrel for the 9mm Shield.

Honestly, the world does not need any more "new" calibers (or guns to use them). There are more than enough right now to choose from. And has been mentioned above, get the current caliber ammo on the shelves (at reasonable prices).

Finally, another cartridge! Now we'll have some options.

I'm guessing an elongated .32ACP case. Think of it as a .32 Super Magnum. I just wonder why they are calling it a 30 Super with a .312 bullet diameter?
                              Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
