I was never a Glock guy, but recently purchased a G26 - and with a mag finger extension - love it!
The next on my list is a 30SF - so I can have a compact .45 with a similar feel/function.
Go with the 30SF - accurate, reliable, compact - you can't go wrong with it...

Yea I'm in that boat told myself I never buy a glock could never get over the grip angle but I might cave in

My votes would be HK USPc and XD45-C.
I remember wanting the XD45-C Tactical for the longest time. Always thought it was a cool looking long slide chopped grip pistol.

My Glock 30SF is very accurate and carries 9+1 rounds with the flush magazine. It has soft recoil but I find it a bit snappy, especially without a pinky extension baseplate on the mag. It's a wide gun so that's something to consider if you're planning to conceal it. The G36 is a lot more comfortable to carry but its capacity is only 6 rounds.

I've had a G36 for about 10 years and love it also. Compact, rugged, accurate, totally reliable. I put Pearce +0 magazine extensions to get the pinky rest. Capacity (6+1) doesn't bother me a bit. I did put Tru-Glo fiber optic sights on it which improves the sight picture for me.

Glock would be my choice. Not sure how small I would personally go on a 45, unless concealed carry was the goal and a must. 45acp has some punch to it. But I am a big fan of Glocks. Reliable, really easy manual of arms, same trigger pull every time so easy to master. Plus once you've mastered one you've mastered them all.

USPC.45 is an outstanding firearm but I wouldn’t call it compact by any means.

Personally, I went with the Kahr P45---slim and lightweight---been reliable---I can get a full grip on this pistol with my large hands... On the negative side, only 6 rounds (but that's what you get with a super-slim 45) and recoil is snappy (but that's what you get with a small 45).
The HK USPc 45 is a dandy gun, but certainly not as small and I don't care for Glocks (but I actually shoot them quite well)...
I did manage to pick-up an HK 45C (off roster) and it is a wonderful pistol, but not that small...
If it's small you want, consider the Kahr P45...!

I have a Kahr P45. It has been reliable; I never thought the recoil snappy but that could be because I'm used to my 44 special Charter arms Bulldog. The slide is a little stiffer to rack than my 1911, also may be why recoil doesn't seem bad with it.

I kick myself for not picking up a G36 when it showed up in the local gun store, but I was in the market for a PM9, so passed on it. It would have made a great companion to my gen 2 G21.
