Compact 45 ?

So I'm trying to hunt down a compact 45 that's not a 1911
So far all I can find that looks to still be on the roster is the Glock 30sf,Kahr p45, and the H&K uspc is there any I'm missing ? Not much of a glock guy but out of the 3 the glock looks to be the best for the money thinking I may need to start looking off roaster a M&P would be nice

The Glock 30 is excellent. I really like mine.

The Kahr P45 may be reliable and recoil is snappy. I don't bother with Kahr after too many failures.

The HK USP 45C is even better than the Glock 30 despite only holding eight rounds in the magazine and being wider. It's a chunky piece of steel. You can configure the thumb safety in any way you can think of (including removing it, making it a decocker only, and a safety only for SA carry). The sum of its parts exceeds the specs on paper.

The correct answer is to buy the Glock and USP and never look back. If you can have only one, then the decision is difficult. I'd probably choose the Glock 30 due to familiarity and ease of maintenance, but the HK USP 45C is seductive. It'll conceal a bit better because it's hammer fired and has less slide to print (the G30's rear, outer point of the slide will print).

My vote is for the HK USPc or 45c, 45c if you want a more ergo grip….

Think I may pick up the glock but still eyeing the m&p with off roster stuff dropping.i can't justify the price of the h&k with the glock being available and from what I can tell kahr doesn't have the best track record

If you have a means of circumventing the roster, the G30S works well as a CCW tool, and gives you G30 capacity, but with the slimmer slide profile of the G36.

I just bought an M&P full size in 45 ACP. I think a compact would go for more than the full sized - over $800.00 or so in CA.

I've had some sort of LTC or CCW since 1976 and have settled on the Kahr PM40. I prefer the longer trigger pull to that of the M&P and Glock. To each his own I suppose.

Another vote here for the HK USP45C. That's my EDC and conceals deceivingly well AIWB. Even then, it's a tack driver. Even better if you go light LEM. It wears an old school UTL and Novak Suppressor Sights, without digging into my gut.

The Kahr in 45 is the only gun I ever regret selling. It was the perfect 45 Ccw.

They also take 7 round 1911 officers mags

I was never a Glock guy, but recently purchased a G26 - and with a mag finger extension - love it!
The next on my list is a 30SF - so I can have a compact .45 with a similar feel/function.
Go with the 30SF - accurate, reliable, compact - you can't go wrong with it...

You might want to consider stepping up to a Glock 29 10mm. That gives you the ability to shoot 10mm from mild to wild; or .40 if you prefer. Plus, you can probably purchase a Glock 30 slide assembly and magazine for it later. You then essentially have 3 pistols in one.

I have a buddy who carries a Glock 36 and loves it. They’re only 6+1 but slimmer. I’d personally probably go with the 30 but it’s all personal preference.
