    SIG P320 experts?

Yeah, I know, off-roster. There are still a lot of P320-knowledgeable people here.

SIG sells the P320 with a manual safety option on ordinary Compact, Carry, and Full sized guns. I've never seen a manual safety on an X gun, nor on X grip modules. Does anyone know if you can put a manual safety FCU into an X grip module? After some creative dremeling perhaps?

Would an X type trigger be problematic with a manual safety FCU?

Yes, you can easily mill any grip module to accept the manual safety. There’s even a jig available to help properly locate the slots. If you need the jig, message me, I have a pair available for $15/posted

Adding the manual safety, you’ll also need to replace the trigger bar. Newer production P320s already have the upgraded trigger bar. But if you have an older production, you’ll need to replace it.

Any trigger is compatible with a manual safety.

Besides the aforementioned modifications mentioned above, you’ll also need to have your FCU frame milled for a Safety cutout. I’m only aware of one company that offers this service. https://www.abprototype.com/manual-safety-cut/

I explained in the OP very poorly.

I have a manual safety 320 already. I want to get a competition setup, so for that I don't need a manual safety, I just want my FCU to fit in my X grip module. OTOH I can get another FCU for $350 AND it includes the X trigger, worth $150. For the $200 real cost maybe it's worth it to avoid the hassle factor.

However, the slide I'd want to use is from my manual safety gun. Will it work on a non-manual safety FCU without modification?

The factory SIG slide will work on any FCU, regardless if it has safety or not.

Do you plan on removing the manual safety levers on your FCU and converting it to non-manual safety? If so, you’ll need to purchase a Safety Lever Pin to replace the Left Manual Safety Lever.

Otherwise, just simply cut the slots into your X-Grip module. Drop it your FCU. Install takedown lever & slide assembly. Done.

I just went over to Sig's website and looked at a few slides and not one of them mentions anything about an FCU with or without a safety.
            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

If you decide to cut the safety notches in your grip, you can either free hand it or use a template to guide your Dremel.

              Here's the template.

The only slide/FCU compatibility I know of is pre vs post voluntary upgrade. Pre slides won't work with post FCUs. Post slides will work with pre FCUs.

Yes all slides work with or without manual safety. You would just modify the grip to fit the lever. Pretty easy to do.

I would just pick up a custom works FCU and be done with it. The custom works FCU also comes with the skeletonized flat trigger, which is the lightest trigger that Sig offers. As everyone else mentioned, all P320 slides are compatible with all FCUs regardless of safety or not.
