Who can weld?

I converted a black powder gun to shoot .45 colt and I accidentally drilled the hole for the firing pin to large. When i fire the gun the primer pops out a little and wont let me rotate the cylinder. Can anyone out there help me by welding the hole closed or smaller?

If its not a blind hole, you might try tapping the hole for a screw, lock-tite a screw it in place, file it flush on both sides and re-drill the hole through the screw.

Talk to any gunsmith, you want to get it bushed. (install a bushing)

I bought mine on clearance for about 200 bucks
then i spent an other $90 on a .45 Colt cylinder and firing pin.
I just wanted a cheap yet nice .45 SA

Yah, I can do it for you, but you gotta be present.

If it shoots a cartridge and loads thru the loading gate, its now considered a firearm (or at least close enough) and it can't be left with me alone to fix it. If it loads into the cylinder and has a seperate cover on the back of the cylinder that holds individual firing pins, I believe its considered an "antique" or "black powder" and I THINK I could weld it w/out you being there (not considered a "firearm")

Assuming its not some cast junk pot-metal, I can weld it no problem. As for a fee, we'd have to see how long it took to do the repair, but most likely about $10.00 would cover it.

If the part that needs welded can be removed from the gun, you could mail it to me and I could do it for you.

Alternatively, you could most likely silver solder it yourself with a MAPP torch and fix it that way.

Honestly, I've used JB weld before and had GREAT results on guns and car parts. Not sure how it'll look on that revolver, though.

It just depends on the finish (look) that you're willing to put up with.

Its not going to be seen. its just the hole where the firing pin hits the primer. I accidently drilled it to large and when i fire the gun the primer pops out a little into the hole and doesnt let the cylinder move so i can shoot a new round.
