    Which gets the red dot?

So, I've got a Glock 19, Glock 29 and a CZ SP-01 in the safe. All are bare-bones stock. I just cannot decide which one to have milled for a red dot. Obviously, an SP-01 with a red dot would need a CGW package. I'm willing to do that. It would be big and heavy though. A glock 19 w/ red dot could be a bad *** EDC, I'm sure the upgrades wouldn't stop there. Finally, a glock 29 with a red dot and a streamlight would be a bad *** camping/hunting piece.

    What say ye?

Glock 19. You'd probably use it more than the 29, and you could always just pick up a slide that's already milled so you could return the firearm to stock if you ever decided to, ever decided to sell it, etc.

Fair. This will be my first foray into red dots. Usually, after looking at the price tags on RMR's, I decide I'd rather just buy another gun. Curiosity has been getting the best of me though. Starting to think I need one.

Swampfox are about as cheap as Vortexes and they have the same RMR/SRO/Holosun footprint. Sale going on...

Yeah - there are some gripes I have with their optics. But for range play? Why not?

That said - yeah, I could suggest the G19, as well. Pair it with a $250 Holosun HS407CO-X2 (8MOA circle) - it is more than capable as an EDC!

Trijicon made in usa. Holosun made in China. I live in USA. China is flying nuclear rockets supersonic around world with money from USA consumers. Easy answer. Buy usa.

If none of them are conceal carry the shorter barrel guns make more sense. The SP01 already has a longer sight radius which makes it easier to shoot. The 19 or 29 are in theory harder to shoot accurately because of this, the 29 especially. I have RDS on a glock 26 and that thing is extremely easy to shoot accurately despite the short sight radius since none of that matters. When I was ordering a long slide for a 17L build I contemplated getting it milled but it defeated the purpose.

G19. Keep the original slide, and get a separate pre-cut slide for red dot. Lots of choices out there.

The G29 is a bad candidate for RDS. It takes longer to re acquire the dot than the iron sights.

Now for a light recoil gun like the 19, RDS is perfect. The dot literally stays still and on target

I had an RMR on a G33, as SnWnMe said, high recoil small light guns are not good candidates for optics. Very slow for follow up shots. I guess there is one argument in favor of a 9mm
