Just bought a Ruger GP100!

Counting down the days. I can take delivery on July 3rd!

I think I'm going to replace the grips with the older style that take inserts. Anyone else done this?

I already have them so mine must be the oldre model/style. I really like this revolver, especially with real hot 38 sp +P loads

I did the poor man version of it. A trip to $0.99 store and got 5 different colors of nail polishes. So far the white work pretty good.

My trigger out of the box was crap. I had an action job done on it and now it's smooth and light as can be.

If you get tired of the ribber grip on the Tracker, try ordering a Hogue. I have a Tracker 627 and I believe model 73000 is the proper grip for the 627. I have large hands (not extra large) and switched grips on my Tracker. The ribber grip fills my hand more, but I felt like I had less control. The Hogue grip is narrower but gives me better control.

The Hogue grip on my wife's GP100 felt like it had a hunchback issue. It just wasn't comfortable at all for either of us. The original grip is the perfect fit.

I found a barely-used GP100 in 4" SS about a year and a half ago for a great price. Love it - it's my regular hiking/camping sidearm. AND, it has the old style grips!

I'm sorry, it was a couple years ago and so I have no recollection... I got a couple guns done at the same time so I don't know what it was broken down to per gun.
