    Question about sig 320's

I was at my LGS and got to handle a sig320. While I really like it, I noticed that the mag didn't fit tight at the bottom. There is a little gap between the bottom of the grip and the end of the mag. It wiggled around and seemed loose. When I asked about it, the guy said all 320's are like that. So, I been looking at pics online. Sure enough, a lot are like this. Everyone seems to love them and this isn't really mentioned anywhere as an issue.

I'm wondering, from those that actually have and shoot them, are yours like this? If so, is this in fact a non issue?

That pic doesn’t even look like a factory mag, let alone a SIG base plate

Mine has a small gap too; I don't think the basepad is supposed to be touching the bottom of the grip.
There's tension on the mag; sure you can move it up and side to side a little bit but not a big deal and doesn't affect function of the mag or gun.

            Gap

I just checked some pics and it does have a slight gap but as SDCarpenter stated not loose at all. Solid seat and locking. I noted that the X-Compact / X-Carry lowers gap was a little more noticeable. Less so with a X5 base pads though.

I do not even see base pad on mine. There is something on the way of sight to see mag base pad if we look from side. It looks like big funnel from bottom direct view. Does anybody know why is that?

I have a tan P320/M17 in 9 and a black P320 in 40 and they both do it with normal and long magazines. The gap is there, it goes away when you press it in and it makes absolutely no difference in functionality.

I have an XCarry and never noticed it. It has run flawlessly for the several hundred rounds of 115gr FMJ & 147gr Federal HST self defense ammo I've put through it.

EVERY gun has a gap there. The gap is there so you can reliability latch the mag catch with the slot.

What are you talking about? Not every gun, but it is common for guns to have that gap.

                        No gap:

                          That’s what she said…

My P320 RX have that, but my P320 X5 doesn’t look bad with the mags that it came with. Can’t use regular base pad with the magwell on the X5.

And, just to add to the 320 question.....

My 320 also looks like that. But as mentioned they are spring loaded and it's designed that way for quick magazine change.
