    A Little Jewel

It took me quite awhile to balance one on the other; what was funny was they'd wait to just before I took the shot and come down.

A little jewel holding up another. It hasn't fired up a cigarette in maybe 30 yrs. which probably helped me last long enough to write this.

Since the BT 380 cc is off roster, and even though there was finish worn off the slide to the metal/finish worn off the frame where the slide rides on the frame, and considering that I was going to re-finish the gun, I bought it as opposed to having to wait a long time for another one to show up.

HK, Beretta, Bersa, and others still make semi-autos that pay homage to another era, and w/a "pinch" of art deco via flowing lines and some "panache", I enjoy them for what they are.

I enjoy my all metal guns as well as my polymer guns, it's all good.

This one will be getting Pauduk wood grips from Marchal grips, and a "satin aluminum" finish from "Scottie's Gunworks" when he becomes available after the 1st of the year.

I'm going to try to get a 2nd one but I'm probably in for a long wait.

The TR-16 Armalaser came w/the gun so there's some extra value. I think it goes well w/the gun, and I LOVE the grip activated function where you pick up/pull out the gun and the laser kicks-off.

I've got 2 Bersa 380 Firestorms, so I'll be wringing these out after I track down some ammo.

I have a Sig P230 that's similar. What I like about the Sig is the lack of anything hanging off the side (no safety, no slide stop, typical Sig decocker hidden in the grip, no mag catch). What I don't like about it is the lack of a thumb actuated mag catch, and the fact that the garbage .380 ACP round seems to recoil more than a 9mm.

I had the Walther PPK's a long time ago, and these guns have the same safety/decocker set up as my Baretta so I "hit the ground running" w/these.

Yes, quite a few folks consider these to be "snappy".

The laser on the CC is red; I'll be getting the green version for these.

          Cool pistol..

I have a PPK/s (.380 ) and do consider it "snappy", as well..

If memory serves, there was the original, when they were made by Interarms, and there's the new one.

Which one do you have, and how is the fit and finish"

My sentiments about all-metal guns exactly. I have 3 Bersa Firestorms ( 2 of them on my CCW), a 1944 vintage Walther PP .32 and two old school 9 mm S&Ws, a Model 59 and a Model 3914. All SA/DA and hammer-fired. Those configurations make it easier to transition to revolvers, all of which I shoot DA.

Interarms never made any firearms, they're just an importer.

                Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

The Mauser is nice, but the Sig P230 without the slide mounted decocker is sleeker, more refined looking.

Ok, so Interarms was importing them from who? I'm still curious.

Nevermind; I got my own answer...

"Because United States law allowed domestic production (as opposed to importation) of the PPK, manufacture began under license in the U.S. in 1983; this version was distributed by Interarms."........

So the gun was not being imported by Interarms, they made the gun here license and it was distributed by Interarms.

From Bersa. Bersa is a firearms manufacturer in Argentina. They started way back in the '50's.

That's not correct, it wasn't coming from Bersa, it was made here in the States under license and then distributed by Interarms.

Ck the post right above yours.

i know all about the history of Bersa, I've got 2 Bersa Firestorms, and a concealed carry, and I read up on these guns/their history b4 I bought 'em.

My apologies, I had Bersa on my mind and didn't really read what you had posted.

I didn't read that you were actually talking about the Interarms sold PPK until going back and reading your post better.

Interarms was an importer and marketing company. They were the early importers of Walther firearms. When the GCA of 68 was signed they could no longer import the PPK so they got a license from Walther to "manufacturer" them here in the US.

Even though they held the license, they didn't actually make them. Instead, they contracted Ranger Manufacturing in Alabama to make them.

When Walther decided to have their own presence in the US, they worked out an arrangement for Smith and Wesson to make them.

Now that the deal between Walther and Smith and Wesson is over, Walther is back to being the only one making them.
