Poss. 1st Time Selling a Gun on CG any Tips?

I understand the process in store as far as FFL/ PPT/ FSC. DROS etc.
I've just heard horror stories about scams/flakes etc.
Being a 1st time seller here w/o any rating am I wasting my time?
I've only made a couple purchases of ammo off this site and both transactions were great. But I know that does nothing for me as a seller.
I don't even know how to use the rating system.

I haven't made a for sale post yet, just wanted to get some advice, tips, warnings etc. before I do, or IF I do.

    TIA.

Tip #1, Face to face transactions only. Shipping to an FFL can be a waste of time

    Tip #2, cash only

Tip #3, let the buyer come to you. You choose the FFL.

Tip #4, ask potential buyers for a contact number. If no verbal communication via phone, move on

        Copy that.
        Thanks Guys
I see some people saying in their ads, 'If DROS falls through there will be $___ charged for my inconvenience". Is that a thing? Does it happen often?

Pro tip: Ask x3 the retail price. State “i know what i have, no lowballers” in the ad.

With you being the seller, the ball is your court as far as your ITrader rating.

Just be upfront about what you are selling and if there is something that needs fixing, isn't up to par, damaged, repaired or you've modded it or replaced parts etc just disclose it instead of having someone show up and then find out.

              Show up.

You as the legit seller have the advantage.

Meet a FFL you are familiar with at a time of day that is safe.
You get cash in your hand only when in the FFL.
                You walk away with cash.

Risk you are exposed to: potentially getting counterfeit money if you don't recognize it, but buyer is tracked through DROS transaction.

Risk to buyer: you sell him a hot gun, but the seller is tracked through DROS transaction.

Seems like it's not worth the risk to try and do a scam with the DROS part in play, but people have done stupider things.

                  Post location of seller.

                  Pictures work better than links.

The more information you post the less PMs asking the same questions.

Limited, One of a Kind, Will go Fast, Custom, Unicorn = Back to the safe or another price reduction.

Look at other adds, would you buy ?

Before you go for transfer-make sure buyer can buy firearm, had FSC, has all IDs line up. Make sure you set terms in case if transfer didn’t go through who is responsible for time loss and money pay back.

Read the complete RULES in the section you’re using. FIRST

                        Open an account at. https://imgbb.com/

And select 1/2 size that shows the photo with clicking on it.
Don’t be a dummy and post stamp size photos…hahaha
Or SO BIG it’s hard to read on a mobile device.

Fill out the form and be sure to click PREVIEW before posting
and make sure you type in a title. If your photos are too small just
go back to …. https://imgbb.com/ And try a different size.

After you post your item for sale go to the post and check it to make sure it’s
correct. Be realistic. Be a nice guy and be accommodating.

Rarely does anyone fail a DROS. I always throw something extra like
ammo or a holster to give my buyer a good, fair, deal.

Lately I use text and be sure to show up on time and text the buyer that
You’ve arrived. I’am not sure where you live but I like to use one particular
FFL, OC Guns in lake Forest. This last 18 months it’s been difficult to just
walk on in without getting in line because they only allow 6 people in the
Store at a time. So I try to set my time to meet the buyer when they open
at 10 AM and I actually have a folding lawn chair to sit in just outside the door.
I know them well. It pays to have a reliable FFL that you can count on.

                        Good luck to you Sir..

Figure out how to use iTrader for your prior deals.

Give a rating and then ask the seller to do the same.

It adds up to better credibility after a while.
