New Sig Legions

Hello,

Recently a friend bought a brand new sig p226 and p220 legions from a local dealer and both of the sigs did not have the legion emblem on the grips. Does anyone else know if they made a switch on these? I was in total disbelief.

I saw pics so I know it is true but wanted to start a discussion and see if anyone else has see these.

I will try and upload pics.

I read somewhere that the emblem was a weak spot in the grips. I also read that there are LE versions (black) without the Legion logo on the grips.

are the grips standard or legions' without emblem?

See if the sticker on the box says Legion.

My black Legion P226 has the legion thingy on the grips.

And beyond the emblem, the Legion grips are actually different from grips on standard pistol - noticeably so.

So are they Legion grips, or not?

if its black then its the LEO version. i assume he/she is exempt. Attached is my p226 that came in plain grips. I bought the medallion one for 150.00

I seem to recall a news story a few years ago where a policy officer got in hot water because he had one of those morale emblems on his rifle. You know, "Kill Em All and Let God sort Em" or "Smile, Wait for Flash".. something like that. IIRC, I think it was on the dust cover of his dept issued AR. I tried googling the story but cant find. Could be that as a LEO handgun, Sig decided to take off all emblems to avoid misinterpretation by the civilians and/or lawyers.

P226 Legion grips are made by Hogue, exclusively for Sig. They are basically G10 grips with some cosmetic differences to make them “exclusive”. Nothing more.
