    I mean, they brought the name back, but it's a different gun.

      Indeed. I still remember years ago, Pietta had revealed a first look at their "P1955", a faithful python clone. It looked almost exactly like the originals, royal blue, nice target grips and all, supposed to come in blued/nickel, with 2,4, and 6" barrels, all around $800. It got canned by Colt apparently because they were developing their new python back then and didn't want competition. Honestly wish we would've just gotten the Pietta. This was the first, and last look we got at their python(pre-production model):

        To me new Colts are priced reasonable. Just ordered 3" Cobra and 6"Python.
