    Sig brand ammo

I know that Sig no longer lists 40 cal. S&W pistols on their website.
I just noticed that all their 40 caliber ammo is listed as out of stock.
I wonder if this is temporary or a sign that Sig is giving up on that caliber?

IDK, kind of make since not to make ammo for guns you don't sell.
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Optimized jacketed hollow point centerfire ammunition for superior self-defense performance. Box/20. ADULT SIGNATURE REQUIRED

A new standard in centerfire pistol and rifle ammunition, providing SIG reliability, accuracy and elite performance. Round after round.

I bet they are just concentrating on keeping 9mm in stock and it comes back.

        Sig Talk 6 mos ago:
Thank you for contacting Sig Sauer.

Due to the popularity of other calibers many of our current models in .40 have been discontinued and it remains to be seen if we will be resuming manufacturing in .40 again in the future.

        Regards,
        Aaron Weeden
Production capacity may still be low, with demand for other caliber firearms stepping up. Shutting down production lines allows reallocation of resources (people/materials/brass/powder/primers) to maximize the hot product lines in both the firearms and ammo.

They still have contracts to fill, so ammo may not be plentiful.

But, if there isn't a major demand for the guns, one would expect the ammo to go away...If you don't birth it, why feed it?

sig website doesn't show 40 nor 357sig anymore.

sigtalk also mentions discontinued production until demand resumes

Six days ago I remember reading a saying all .40 cal has been removed from the sig website. I had to check myself and sure enough it was. I emailed them and just got a response today. Thank you for contacting Sig Sauer. Due to the popularity of other calibers many of our current models in...

got a Sig P226 226R-40-B-CA $550 shipped + tax + FFL transfer in 2018. thought it was being discontinued then.

not surprised since they got rid of .40 line up. most people are not able to handle .40.

All I know is that SIG brand 10mm is actually nice and peppy like it should be. At thins point SIG could put out nothing by 9mm and the occasional .45 and they’d sell everything they could produce.

Why make a dying round anymore? The old timers who think it’s vastly superior are on their way out and then no one will ever buy one again.

People don't buy new hand guns in .40 S&W much anymore. I haven't for maybe 10+ years. Still, rumors of .40's death have been greatly exaggerated.

People who dislike it sure do act like they have something invested in what other people choose to shoot though, hahah. That's always hilarious AF.

It is still in the top five (At least) and sometimes easier to find than other ammo that's for sure.

i remember during obama's panic buy, i was able to find .40 although limited to 3 boxes, at least you can find them. then came beer flu panic buy, they're out of stock. so they are probably dead by now ...again ... for sure.

Someone purchased all the G23s and every other 40S&W that was in stock over the last year, they are not on the shelf now. I agree it is not as popular as it once was, but it is not going anywhere. If you reload the 40sw you can normally get brass for next to nothing because all of the range ammo from LE. You can download it to near 9mm power and have it run just fine. I think we will see another round of LE trade in next year once stock gets back to normal. I think LE departments are having just of a hard time to get stock as everyone else.

So are you trying to tell me not to hold my breath waiting for Sig to come out with a .45gap round?

Lol, those belong on the same shelf with .40 and .357 sig too.

Not from a capitalist point of view.

You sell ammo to whomever wants to buy it from you.

Extra points if you get a cat with a Glock to shoot Sig ammo.
