    Brownells RMR slide problem.

Anyone have a problem with the brownells RMR slide when installing the RMR?

It seems like the cut is short front to back and/or its binding on the posts.

Im sending it back and getting another one. Hoping I do t have the same issue again.

I got a Glock 34 RMR slide from that worked fine with Holosun RDS’s I have put on it. I also put in the Glock OEM slide parts and a KKM barrel. It has been running flawless for about 500 rounds.

Only issue is that it is a little more challenging to put the slide on the frame than the Glock 17 slide.

I made 17 to 34 conversion using the slide, etc.

I purchased two of their rmr cut slides. 17 and 34. No issues with Trijicon or Holosun optics. I was actually impressed with the close fit securely holding the optics even without screws. The one issue I did have was the screw posts will not accept mounting screws that came with the optics. Went to Ace Hardware to find what I needed. Slide optics have made shooting enjoyable again.

I agree, after using optics on pistols, its hard to go back (unless 1911).

I had a problem with one of their slides where the firing pin would hang up, causing the trigger to not reset -intermittently. It took a while to realize that it was the brownells slide, they have a good return policy

I've seen way too many FTF/FTE with aftermarket components. IMHO it's better to mill a factory Glock slide vs buying an aftermarket one.

i have one. used rmr, sro, and even the holosun 507c on it without issues. it's supposed to be a tight fit. try to bring the optic directly down onto the slide/mounting screws posts and you shouldn't have any issues. just a little pressure to get it to seat.

I tried putting it in at an angle and that's where i had issues. Like putting the front portion of the optic in and then the backside...etc. it wouldn't go. coming down directly on it evenly worked for me.

              hope that helps.

I tried that and all other ways too. I think this was just off a little. Did you have to use a sealing plate with the RMR?

Your sight might be too long.
                  Measure it.
Measure the slide cut length as well before you send the slide back.

I suspect that if you have brownells replace it that the replacement will measure the same.
If you measure the one you send back, you can confirm that when the replacement arrives.
If both slides are the same, the likely cause of the problem is your sight being too long.

Only if you need it to be sealed.

I bought the slide and a Trijicon SRO for my wife's Gen3 34. Everything installed perfectly.

                        I'll chime in

You are ensuring the sight and slide are parallel to each other
Completely flat when installing the optic.

If you try front to back - they won't fit
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
                        (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

I installed mine on a ZEV slide without the sealing plate. Is the rubber gasket on the RMR not good enough?

Depends on if there are holes inside the rubber ring.
If your slide has NO holes anywhere inside the rubber boundary (including screw holes with screws in them), then the sight should seal against the slide.
Otherwise, use the sealing plate IF you want the sight to be sealed.
