Just a FYI for you, 4” M27-2’s were only made in 1980 and command a premium. Earlier versions had 3 1/2” barrels. Registered Magnums could be ordered in nearly any barrel length, but one of those will set you back about three times what they want for that M57.

M28’s OTH, came in 4 and 6 inch barrel lengths and are easier to find than a M27 and are usually less expensive. I picked up this 1964 vintage 28-2 about eighteen months ago for $500. The original walnut target grips were beat to death, but I happened to have a nice set of correct diamond targets stashed in my orphan grip box.

Did not know that about 27-2's. Maybe a model 28 then. I'm not looking for a collectable. Just a shooter that's in good or better condition. Mechanically sound is more important than some blueing loss to me.
