I've fired and even carried one for part of a day once. Kind of finicky for my tastes but it's good to see such a neat gun possibly coming back again. I know a guy that needs some magazines for one possibly.

I'm pretty sure every Coonan owner will be buying mags.

Also I spoke with a lady there, and she also said that they where going to be making them again, and If you want one they are taking names to put on a list,

Coonan also said they are making the FAL receivers, and should be producing both of them in late July,

again this is what the lady told me on the phone.

In your experience, what was finicky about it?

I've owned 2 Coonans, my experience is that they can be unreliable when fed ammo that is designed (as virtually all 357 ammo is) for a revolver - as in, the 110 & 125 JHPs with those soft lead front ends and anything that isn't a "full bore" loading. When I stuck with FMJ ammo - 130 or 158 grain - the gun ran fine. I suppose that's more an ammo issue than a gun issue.

Another issue, I got greatly varying points of impact from 110s as opposed to 158 grain bullets. Again, that's just pretty much the way a 357 works, but having fixed sights didn't help. Adjustable sights as standard would have been better.

Like Desert Eagles, they are picky on the bullet types you feed them and the hotness of the ammo.

Money. If you pay the BOF enough extorsion money you can get on the list.

Coonan mags run about $100. I'm sure if they started selling new ones for $30-40, there would be quite a few sales.
