Question for FN Five Seven owners

After a while of ownership, how do you feel about this handgun? Is it still exciting and a keeper? Do you feel it's a hassle ammo being not so commonly available(not that any currently, but still)?

I have had mine for about six months, while it’s not my go to pistol. It is still a keeper. The recoil is a little more than a .22 magnum, compared to my single six. It has better accuracy at a longer range. Beginning shooters that are able to get there hands around the grip comfortably, enjoy shooting the pistol with its low recoil. Its light weight and easy aim.
While the cost of the ammo might be an issue, purchasing it is not. The local gun shop has it in stock, Dublin Gun and Knife, Bass Pro stocks it and you can find it at gun shows. While going to Big 5 and WM are a joke. 5.7 x 28 what???
    Very interesting!!
    Uhh.ohh, wifes home gotta go....

I like the "idea" of a 5.7 pistol. Unfortunately it's not a very attractive pistol, we can only have 10 round magazines in this state, and we can't have armor piercing rounds.

        I'm keeping mine.

Ammo isn't overly expensive and it's actually easier to get than 9mm or .45auto.

5.7 X 28 is an awesome round with staggering ballistic capabilities even when put up against a level II vest. 5.7 X 28 definitely has it's niche.

the ammo maybe, but the gun is way overly expensive... you can get a good 1911 for the cost

Definitely a keeper, ammo isn't any harder to find than 9mm, 40 or 45, or at least right now. But, I usually buy ammo online so I haven't had any problems. I do like how light it is and doesn't recoil much.

Had mine for about 2 yrs now, but almost sold it a couple of months ago. I just couldn't do it!
Yes, it's a keeper! Great shooter w/ minimal recoil. My GF thinks it belongs to her now because she shoots it more than me.

All the above. I've had mine for a little more than 2 years and while I wouldn't class it as a "carry pistol" it does what I bought it for and that is either casual plinking or hunting. It definitely has changed the attitude of a few coyotes and bunnies. Haven't tried it on anything else yet. I have a half dozen of the 20 round mags at my AZ place and I can shoot an entire night just taking 1 extra mag along.

Loaned it to a friend of mine that just started into the handgun game and he shot amazingly well with it. (I WAS surprised).
                Neat lil gun.

->and thanks Laidlaw for the great directions on how to 'lose' the mag disconnect.

I've shot milk jugs at 100 and 150 yards with mine. Its truly a world class target pistol, and it gives me a satisfying sense of bragging rights whenever I roll out to the range with mine.

Ammo is very easy to find online, and the price has stayed nice and stable during the "great panic."

Definitely a keeper. Ammunition hasn't been a problem, but I've purchased in bulk. The ballistics are great, for a wide variety of applications.

Ergonomics are excellent, though different from the 1911 to be sure. With a trigger job it's even better.
