An angled fore grip for a fixed mag pistol does not require any special treatment under federal law, and CA law doesn’t seem to address it. This is how I have mine set up so ... I hope it’s correct. Per the other responses, a vertical grip is treated as an AOW under federal law. Google is also helpful with this.

On a semi-auto pistol with a fixed magazine, it is CA legal for it to have a second handgrip.
A second handgrip is any grip or textured surface, other than the handgun's primary grip, that can be utilized by the non-trigger hand to assist in stablizing or controling the handgun.
If the second handgrip is a vertical forward grip, then:
... it would be legal if the pistol is a BATFE approved Title 2 AOW.
... it would be illegal (Federal felony) if the pistol is not a BATFE approved Title 2 AOW.Last edited by Quiet; 01-27-2021, 11:54 PM.sigpic
