          Assuming your trigger pivots from the top somewhere inside the frame, the lower you are on the trigger, the longer the leverage arm you have to apply pressure. Hence the lighter the trigger break. This only applies to pivot triggers - 1911 type designs (where the trigger does not pivot) are insenitive to position.

          It's not hard to use a gauge on a flat trigger, but you should measure from the same point you contact the trigger when firing.

          As an aside, my Toz free pistol's trigger is set to about a half an ounce, I think. It's too low for any of my gauges to measure. I had to crank the weight up from the out-of-box setting, as it was firing before I felt my finger make contact.

                      1 lbs, 7 oz on my primary limited gun (steel grip), 2 lbs, 1 oz on my backup limited gun (plastic grip).

                          This is what I am using. I am borrowing from my work. It is twice a year calibrated pull/push gauge.
