    Flying with Glock tupperware

    Hey fellas,

Anyone had experiences with flying with the Glock tupperware and using the included cable lock? From the airline regs, it seems to fit the required hardsided, lockable case but it's not exactly lockable from both ends. I was just going to wrap the lock around the handle.

I fly with my Glocks in the clam shells and then there is no worry. For a few bucks, you can pick one up. I would so you dont have any problems when you get to the gate.

    Just an idea.

Granted I am reading your post at 2:31 in the morning but I think the OP has a clam shell case and is asking about locking it, and if that does in fact meet the airline requirements when flying,

now personally I haven't flown with the clam shell Tupperware but thats just because It wasn't large enough to take me and my carry on.

Just buy a better case. I would not risk any firearm being tossed around by baggage monkeys in a rickety factory case.

I might be wrong here, but when I see the "Glock Tupperware case", I have always known that to be the very old square Glock case that had a hole in the middle and snapped on like actual tupperware, not the clam case.

PS- For what its worth, I drilled a hole in the handle of my Glock clam cases to ran a lock through it. I have since submitted my idea to Glock and havent heard back from them on it.

Yep, that clamshell was what I was referring to in my original post. I was going to throw that in my checked baggage after the declaration but wasn't sure if that met their definition.

The Glock clam shell was perfect if they just drilled a hole in it for locking. Instead they have a version with their own cheap lock underneath.

Think you'll find one off those notices that they searched your luggage inside the glock case?

hmmm that looks cool, but just throwing a pad lock over the handel wouldnt work?

Also I have the old crappy square left-overs tuperware, I want a clam shell instead!!!!

The lock shank would have to be very wide. I couldnt do it with a standard Master lock. So I drilled a hole near the handle and it works perfect now.

I'm confused. What exaxctly did you do to your 'modern' Glock case that makes it better than their "cheap" lockable version?

I apologize for leaving you guys hanging, my bad. Here are the pictures of what I did- Very simple, nothing fancy and it works. Also- This idea has already been submitted to Glock with date stamp proof retained by me.

Note- i have 4 of these Master Locks and they are all keyed alike. Makes life and gun ownership easier.

The good news first: good thinking, as we have a handful of "IDEA THIEVES" lurking these halls!

The bad news: as good as your 'lock tweak' idea on your Glock case is (and it is a very good one!), the same idea has been submitted several times before. One of which led to the factory lock option that is available now.
