Glock torture test

Probably because there are more nooks and crannies for small particles to get stuck in the H&K slide. I have both guns- the Glock is pretty flat inside the slide with less room for grit to get caught in a critical area. The H&K has more moving parts and places in the back for stuff to get caught (open hammer area) too.

The key here is LOOSE fit for reliability- the Glock has many gaps for grit to fall out of between the slide and frame, the H&K does not.

I guess I can agree with the loose fit on a Glock, where the HK is tighter. However after inspection of both frames and slides, I can't agreee with your "nooks and crannies" theory. It just doesn't make sense that the HK would immediately fail and the glock would work everytime.

G21 owner here.
It was the first handgun I purchased and years later it is still my most trusted. G21 is the only gun I keep out of the gun safe for "just in case" emergencies.
If God forbids me and my family would have to suddenly leave town in case of a large-scale disaster and have room to take only a rifle and a pistol, I would make sure to grab the G21 first, then my Chicom SKS.

Neither gun ever jammed or failed. The G20 w/ the 6.5" factory hunting barrel is wickedly accurate out to 100 yards w/ hot 10mm ammo.

I really like GLOCKs. Especially my G21. I used to think that they were so ugly and I refused to give them a chance. Then, a couple of years ago, a friend convinced me to try one out. I've always been a fan of simplicity, and the GLOCK exemplifies that. Now when I look at a GLOCK, it's like a creation that only a mother (sic, father) could love.

I like Glocks quite a bit. The only thing that worries me is that everytime I teach a very new shooter how to use one (espcially females), they end up limp wristing the pistol causing a malfunction.

Never had the problem myself, but then again I guess in the a worst case scenario, where i have no strong hand avaliable and my weak had is bleeding out, i wonder if I could keep myself from limp wristing.

I know I'm a worse case scenario kinda guy - I've seen 1911s mess up from limp wristing, but I guess its one of those things to be aware of. Aside from that, things from Austria tend to be able to take quite the beating
