THAT is why glock is the most reliable gun of all time. I love my G17. It will go with me to hell and back.

Linkie no workie for me....keep getting dns errors.

But FWIW...there's a guy over at one of the boards I've frequented for years and I've known for years now that's done a couple of these on video; he litterally LOVES to try to destroy guns. The glock did hold up pretty well....even over the USP...and I'm more a HK fan.....

IIRC he's done the same on a Mossberg 12, the USP as mentioned, a SA 1911, I think a CZ 52?.........few others...

Part of me would love to do it too but I love the lil' kids to much to beat up on 'em like that LOL!!!!!!!
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered....

I really want to get a G21 someday. I have a bunch of normal caps mags tucked away somewhere

I was shocked when the HK USP Compact failed so quickly. I beleive it was dirt build up around the firing pin and hammer. While such a test is unrealistic, it sure is interesting. Maybe our armed forces should start packing Glocks!

I don't really understand why the HK's slide wouldn't lock and the Glock's would everytime. I don't see any amazing mechanical differences in the HK slide vs the Glock slide fit or function. It doesn't really make sense.

If anyone feels more confident in their firearm after reading the infamous Glock torture test, fine. Good for them. Let's leave it at that.

That being said, I am looking forward to the rumored 4th gen glock 21 with the better grip.

Wonder if they used a SOCOM, they would have found a difference.......

Who knows, either way, what good does it do to bury your gun in the ground and then try and shoot it? If I drop my gun in the mud, I would pick it up right away, and brush it off.

Maybe if your Rambo, hiding in the mud, waiting for the NVA soldier to walk past so you can come out of the mud and shoot him in the back.

Probably because there are more nooks and crannies for small particles to get stuck in the H&K slide. I have both guns- the Glock is pretty flat inside the slide with less room for grit to get caught in a critical area. The H&K has more moving parts and places in the back for stuff to get caught (open hammer area) too.

The key here is LOOSE fit for reliability- the Glock has many gaps for grit to fall out of between the slide and frame, the H&K does not.
