            Yes, the XR sight is narrower and the dot itself is slightly smaller.

            I have the same problem with the HD sights. From 15 yds and above, there is "no light" on either side of the sight picture. While it may be OK for shooting steel where a "ping" is all you need, it is more problematic for me if I am trying to hit a designated area like a head box. Therefore, the narrower XR sights are better for me.

            Don't know what that is. My avatar is a frog skeleton body with a Winchester proof mark mid section, S'G' eyes, LWRCI furniture and a Marlin micro-groove barrel.


            P.S. - how do can you tell it is a Marlin micro-groove barrel? ....you have to read the roll-mark.
