    Sights or Red dot

My hk p2000 has standard sights. All my other hand guns have night sights and are larger. I am having issues acquiring the front sight. I trying to figure out between Trijicon HD or a using the red dot in the rear sight. Anyone else have a similar issue and care to share their resolution?

I had the same issue with my H&K P2000sk, I went with the Trijocon HD sights. Huge improvement. Best option imo. I’ll post a pic in a minute.

Did you use the orange or yellow? I'm leaning towards the orange.

          Red dot.
As I have gotten older, seeing the sights have become more and more problematic

I have the yellow. It’s a preference thing, I think they would both work well. I chose yellow because I have a few other guns with sights just like this, all yellow. Red dots are great, but would you install a plate or cut the slide?

Try the XS big dot or Trijicon HD sights. It might help. Your focus should be the target at all times and align the sights in the background.

As years past, need for bigger and brighter sights have been required. If I had to do it over again, I would have moved to red dot sooner. Path was contrast sights, to night sights, to larger and brighter sights with both tritium and fiber optics to red dot. Could have saved a bunch over the years by just going to red dot sooner. Red dot has my vote

For me, laser. Red on my night gun, green on my day gun, point and shoot. I'm going for a center mass hit if I'm in trouble not a 10x.

I have both Trigicon HD and Trigicon HD XR front sights. I prefer the XR version in that they are slightly narrower and better for me for distance shooting. Both are hi-vis yellow, which for me acquires easily.

Is the dot any smaller on the XR?

What kinds of distance? If I shoot over 15 yards, I am hitting steel and just looking for that ping sound.

Thank you. Unfortunately the only trijicon for the p2000 is the HD option.

RDS all day. I'll be converting everything to RDS, with backup suppressor sights

Having a hard time with my P226 as well but the tritium is still good on them. Just a few more years and I can justify switching them out. I would suggest you look through the red dot you are going to by before buying them, just to make sure you don't have astigmatism.

Let me hijack this thread possibly hoping there are Sig experts in here.

At how many rounds should I send in my P226 for service from Sig? This is for a Mk25 bought via SSE so I don't like shipping something that can possibly get lost/stolen by FEDEX.
