YUP. Exactly what I have in my pocket as we speak. Loaded with 357 Magnums

My SIL carries one of these in his pocket when he's not in uniform. I believe he keeps it loaded with .38+Ps because of the light weight but I'm not sure about that.

2 good things about the Ruger SP 101 357, it's one of the heavier small frame guns, and the hogue grip on the Ruger helps with recoil and control.

It's not that bad w/+p's w/the aftermarket Hogue grip.

Pros: Lightweight, simple to operate, easily pocketable and loaded with .38+p's. Cons: 5 rounds only, stout recoil.?

They are not fun I been carrying a 442 daily for the past 20 years and never used it but for 5 shots the recoil is not a biggie ,train with wad cutter ammo. ammo. Before that a Llama 380.

You can use a .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum or .45 Colt revolver with shotshells instead. .22 Magnum shotshells are pretty effective also for snakes.
