    Glock 23 9mm Conversion Barrel?

I have a Gen 2 G23. Interested in a 9mm conversion barrel. I've seen what Brownells carries, but wanted one that was naked (i.e., un-nitrite coated) stainless steel, so it would be clear upon inspection whether the gun was configured for .40 S&W or 9mm.

I'll thank you in advance for any reasonable suggestions.

socal m1 shooter, i purchased a Lone Wolf Barrel for a G22 and it a great finish, quality, and a good price at just under $100.

Lone Wolf Arms is the largest manufacturer of aftermarket parts for Glocks. We also have M&P Shield, Beretta/Taurus, and Browning Hi-Power parts.

Appreciate the link but the specs say Gen 3 and Gen 4.

I can't claim to understand why certain barrels seem to be drop in for Gen 1-4, and others are Gen3/4 only.

I have a gen 2 G23 and I used an Alpha Wolf conversion barrel. Part No. is 239N. Worked perfectly out of the box. Use the G23 or G19 mags. I use both.

I have a Lone Wolf conversion barrel in my Gen 2 G23, of course I bought it when Gen 3's were new.
It has been fine although I really don't shoot it much after getting the PPQ.
I'd recommend contacting Lone Wolf at their "For all other questions please email LoneWolf@LoneWolfDist.com"

That was the one I was looking at, but the specs say gen 3/gen 4, whereas others, like on Brownells.com, specify gens 1-4.

              Already sent.

I just don't want to waste money having to ship and return something after finding out the hard way that I should have done more due diligence.

+1 for the lonewolf conversion barrels. I've used one for years, even took a 4 day class with it and it worked well.

I have a gen 3 G23 and use a 9mm Lonewolf conversion barrel in stainless steel. No complaints.

                    Did you use G19 mags?

Lone Wolf replied that the issue is the fit and dimensions of the guide rod changed from one generation to the next. Apparently Glock increased the base diameter where the guide rod seats against the barrel as the generations went by. So the gen 2 guide rod is slightly different from later generations, skinnier and with a smaller base. However the barrel allegedly will function.

I have an Alpha Wolf and the Brownells, I think the Brownells is the way to go....excellent barrel and finish, plus much better warranty. The Alpha Wolf is great, actually, I think I got a better than usual copy. I have had problems with LW stuff in the past, Brownells is good stuff, never a problem.

I already ordered the Lone Wolf. As mentioned upthread, I wanted an obvious visual cue regarding what caliber the gun was configured for, and the Brownells barrels are all nitrited (black finish).

What seems surprising to me is that the .40 S&W extractor works on a 9mm case without issue. I wouldn't have guessed that would be true.

The potential issue is the ejector. I never had an issue with my Gen 3 G23, but I have read that others have had issues. The simple fix is to buy a 9mm ejector. The .40 ejector just pulls out of the trigger assembly housing and you slide in the 9mm.

The 40 cal. extractor works well with 9mm shells but mine slings them back at 5 o'clock and a few at 6 o'clock. I have a little scar above my right eye where one drew blood. Oh well - chicks dig scars.
