    I carry a G42 and VP9sk. HK's closest gun in dimension to the G43/Shield would be a P7. The VP9sk is bigger.

The G19 is close to the VP9 in dimension, but the HK wins for better ergos and controls if you are the type to use the slide release.

Sounds like you need to buy a VP9

Same here. I like it so much that I bought two.

It is a legacy gun and antiquated by today’s standards, and the largest caliber available for it is .380. It’s still larger than a glock 43 by a little. It’s one of only 3 single stacks ever made by HK, (unless you count the efl flare gun) the other two being the P7 and the P9 series. Those also are legacy firearms, command premium prices, with difficult to find and expensive parts and magazines.

So that brings you to current made available guns. The vp9sk, p30sk, and the p2000sk would be closest in size, however all are noticeably thicker than a g43 or a shield.
They are all closer in size to a glock 26.

Assuming you are in california, that narrows it down to the p2000sk unless you want to pay off roster pricing.

The current g43 main competitor is the sig p365. Just picked one up. It’s smaller than the g43, yet holds 4 additional rounds. You will pay dearly for one if in california.

Small-ish hammer fired da/sa with a decocker HK for ca carry, p2000sk.

              Good luck.

Thanks for the detailed response. I guess I’ll have to take another look at the Sig p365. Everyone seems to love it, but it just felt weird in my hand. My uncle carries one so I’ll ask him to bang-bang a few.

I will also take a look at the p2000sk. I only carry striker fired so a hammer will be cool and something not 1911.
