    Starting my collection (*updated*)

My first 3 purchases as a new gun owner

    CZ P-01, Sig P320 XCompact, Glock 19 Gen 3

I've already started teaching my daughter how to load, clear and field strip. She loves it so far. Unfortunately for me she really likes the Sig, which means I'm out of luck. It is lighter for her and easier to handle with her smaller hands. The Glock seems to fit well in her hands too, and it's actually easier for her to manipulate the mag release and slide lock.

I have a CZ 97B in jail now

We just need to get out to a range.

Great start! Honestly got a good selection already.

    Needs a revolver - recommend a S&W 686+ or Ruger GP100 Match Champion you're welcome!

        Congratulations. Excellent start.

An accurate 22lr pistol would be a good practical addition. Cheap to shoot. I would recommend:

        Browning Buckmark pistol
used Ruger MkII or MkIII pistol
        S&W 617 revolver
        used S&W 34 or 63 revolver
Ruger Single Six or Bearcat revolver with adjustable sights

Why compact instead of full size?

+1 for getting 22LR pistols and rifles.

                How old is your daughter?

I love hearing about dads that take their daughters shooting. I wish more did.

A CCW is my goal, so I figured I'd start with something I would probably carry.

Awesome! You must be a helluva roll model. Most 16 year old daughters want nothing to do with their parents much less follow in their footsteps. Sounds like she has a good head on her shoulders.

Since you said your daughter is planning on going military and you already have a Sig P320 to stand in for the M17/M18, you might want to take a serious look at a Beretta M9, because to be honest even with new handguns getting shipped to active duty forces today, there's going to be alot of units still carrying around Beretta's for the next five to ten years until they trickle all the way down to the likes of support units and weekend warrior folks like me.

While I would also highly recommend a .22 pistol and a 1911, I would also say hold off on those for awhile considering the current situation. Under current circumstances it would be wise to stay consolidated to one caliber and just buying it by the case instead of by the box to save costs and wait for things to calm down and prices to go down before diversifying.

I'm in the market for a Beretta -- either a 92FS or M9A1, or both

They have them in stock at one of the local stores for $629. I've got another 7 days before my 30 days is up.
