I had an El Monte gun back in the day. It was a blast to shoot.

I've never owned one but I have to agree on the blast to shooting.

.........One analysis claimed that the Auto Mag Corporation lost more than $1,000 on each pistol; each pistol sold wholesale for around $170. The pistols originally retailed for $217.50 in the 1970s............

.........Auto Mag is currently producing the first 77 Founders' Edition pistols with an 8.5" barrel, selling for $3,995 each. Classic Edition pistols with a 6.5" barrel are planned to sell for $3,495 each.............

          ***********

Looks like history is bound to repeat itself.

$4K for that thing...........OR you could have your choice of pretty much any high end long established custom gun.
Before there was Polymer there was Accuracy.

The website say they formed the new company in 2015, so they have been working on it for going on 5 years. Maybe they are doing it the old fashioned way and not accruing a bunch of debt and or investors. The pistol doesn't look that complicated, with modern machining and 3D scanning and reverse engineering, I am thinking they could have done it a lot sooner. Maybe its just an after work project for someone.

A quick search of their location shows they share the same address with southernammo.com so maybe it is someones side project.

Saw them at SHOT a couple of years ago. The sample they had at SHOT looked good. Too bad it's going to be another off roster pistol.

The only good thing about that is that all of the OG ones are C&R and roster exempt, so the off roster mark up on these shouldn't be to much.

Isn’t automag brass just cut down .308 brass? Now why didn’t we do anything with that in an AR platform?

I hope so. I'd love to pick one up.

You are correct, and you can also cut down 30/06 brass.

                          Cut down, and reamed out.
