    I already posted mine.
I don't have my Glock handy, but here's a picture of my Springfield Armory P9, which has an incredibly hard slide.

It has both a Bomar cut rear sight, and an integral front sight that was cut for a fiber optic.

Really? Even if it has a burr or some slag in it?

My Dawson/Glock front sight has a threaded stud that goes thru the hole in the slide. If I reduce the diameter of the stud, all I'm doing is filling off the threads.

Have they changed the design of their front sight?

The sight has an oval shaped boss that drops into the slide.

That boss should be just shorter than the thickness of the slide above the counterbore.
Then the hex head screw threads into the hole in the boss and up into the sight blade.
The screw is smaller than the slot in the slide.
The POST needs to fit down into the slide before the screw is installed.

Ok, again, if something doesn't fit into a hole, what are your choices? Hint, there's only two.

OP. once you get a good fit of the sight in slot, clean it with a bit acetone to remove any oils. When you install the sight, use a drop of blue Loctite in the screw hole. Be careful to not over-torque the little hex-head screw!

Gen 2 glocks had front sights that were press fit into the hole. Dawsons are always a bit large. So file the edges, as has been beat to death, line up the new sight, and tap it into the slide hole. I have replaced a lot of these and the old glock holes are a bit smaller than the newer gen 3 and beyond. The sight should tap into the hole

                          This.

Not Neuro surgery or rocket science like "racer" called it. Not removing a quarter inch on Monel. It is a few thousandth of an inch to remove from the stub to fit it to a hole. That is if this front sight is made (correct part #) for a glock.

If you do not have files or access to them, some 220 grit sand paper wrapped around an ice cream/coffee stir stick makes an energency tiny file.

Smack them hard enough that they stop fighting and then push harder.

                                Randall,

The black coating (oxide?) of my Dawson Glock rear sight was scratched during installation. The shiny metal is shown on the push side. Is there a way to blacken the metal to make it look nicer? Thanks.
