    RIA 1911

Was at the Ontario gun show today and a old geezer like me had a nice booth dedicated to the 1911.Nobody was around so we started talking about them
I stated that i did not need anything but i asked him a few cleaning questions.
The conversation moved to how much people pay for 1911s. I sheepishly admitted i owned a RIA 1911 in 45 acp and he proudly showed me his 2 that he had right next to him.
He stated that he loves his RIA 1911s very much. I have the slightly upgraded model that has the nice little touches but it is still a 500 dollar 1911.
I still think it is funny that a 1911 fan for 30+ years likes low cost RIA 1911s as much as i do.

Have a FS Ultra, as a truck gun. It beats confronting a bad guy with your wick in your hand!

I have 3 or 4. A couple I used as practice guns for my pitiful gunsmithing skills and I couldn't kill them. I got a screaming deal on a .45 Match, which shoots great for a $300 gun. Besides, they still make a .38 Super, so they are all good with me. A damn shame 9mm is pushing Super out, it's still a great round and has cool factor.

A cheap gun can shoot well.
AND, if you can out shoot your buddy with a expensive model, priceless.

low cost because skilled labor is cheaper in the philippines than in the USA.A 8-9 hundred dollar american made 1911 is mostly labor not materials.
I do support made in the USA if i can afford it.
My RIA 1911 FS would be around 1,000 from colt or springfield i think. Out of my price range for sure.

I had three Ultras sold the compact because I already have enough of those. My MS is a 9mm and a tack driver and I really enjoy shooting it. My FS was a 45 that I turned into a 9mm because I got the TRP full rail that I really wanted and when I tried to sell it had no buyers and thought what the heck lets see if I can make it a 9mm full rail gun. Well after some work on the barrel only because everything else fit no problem it shoots ok for someone who shouldn't own a Dremel or files to work on guns

                    NOTABIKER,

I have three in my battery and they all work well. My fun/work horse is a first generation version market under a different name. Most of the parts are interchangeable except for a few parts that needs custom fitting. Once broken it they work well and is a good field gun for the out doors.

Lately, I've gotten some appreciation for the RIA 1911 brand. They are affordable and for my own personal use, fills all the reasons for buying a 1911 without breaking the bank.

I’ve bought a few parts from him here and there, seems like a nice guy.

I bought a Citadel Tactical from Turners for $489. I honestly can't find anything wrong with it.

I used to be a 1911 snob for a lot of years. If it's not a ( INSERT BIG NAME HERE ) then it's a blah blah blah... POS copy, blah!

Once upon a time I wanted a basic 1911 to use as a hammer or sorts and took a chance on a RIA Tactical 45. I changed the grips and shot/shoot the crap out of it. Reliable and accurate.

Armscor knows how to build a 1911 clone and make it a great value too. I'm still patting myself on the back for buying it.
